Googie LA
Technically some of these subjects are not Googie architecture in the true definition, but they all serve the intention of what Googie architecture tries to do, which is to get you to stop your car and get out and go into whatever the establishment is. Traditional Googie has a futuristic look to it, think of the space age in the 1950s or the Jetsons. These subjects that I find and photograph sometimes fall into that category, but they also may be giant neon sculptures or signs, or weird figurines towering over the streets below. In any case, they offer me a subject to seek out here in LA and have fun with.
