My Father’s New York
In 1947 and 1948, my father, Luke Bennett, explored and photographed New York City with a medium format and a 35mm camera, capturing the city’s scenes and landmarks. I literally found his trove of negatives in a shoebox about twenty years ago and almost immediately went about scanning and printing many of his images. I hope you find them as fascinating as I have found them, the quality is excellent as most of them are from the medium format negatives he shot.
